Maryland law requires that each
rental unit be visually inspected
at each tenant turnover so as to assure
safety from
lead-based paint
hazards. These laws are enforced by the Maryland
Dept. of the Environment, from whom you can find out more about the
requirements
for rental property owners. I can perform these inspections for
you so that you will be in full compliance with the law as well as eligible for lead
hazard liability insurance through your insurance company. Please contact
me so that I can assist you.
You might want to review the information found on my 'Tips' page which can help to assure that your unit will pass the lead-dust test the first time through. This can eliminate additional costs of re-testing and possible delays in getting your new tenants moved in. Also, please register your rental properties with MDE right away if you haven't done so. Click the 'registration' link at left for more information. There, you will also find links to some of the forms and lease addendums that are required to be a part of your lease agreements. I will give caring personalized service due to my concerns about the hazards of lead in paint. I am also concerned about how this affects you, the property owner. Therefore, I want to help make this as painless and inexpensive as possible.
